ABSTRACT

Objective The purpose of this research is to use modern statistical methods,to analyze the rules of cointment by Prof.Yang Zhimin treating yang deficiency and fatigue state patients,to increase the pertinence and to improve the clinical efficacy. Methods This paper analyzed 62 cases of Prof.Yang Zhimin in the treatment of the patients with yang deficiency and fatigue state from October 2010 to January 2013.The analyses were frequency analysis and association rules. Results Among the patients with yang-deficiency and fatigue,193 Chinese medicine were used. The monkshood was the highest frequency.Dampness-transforming medicine accounts for about 22.2% in the top 36 frequency of medicine.Based on analyzing association rules,we found that the compatibility of medicine which were used more frequently came from Sini decoction,Danggui Sini decoction and Jinkui Shenqi pills, such as "monkshood and dried ginger","monkshood and roasted liquorice","dried ginger and roasted liquorice","monkshood and angelica","monkshood and comel","monkshood and prepared rehmannia root" and "monkshood and yam".Futhermore,we found two new core prescription. One was Qian Yang Dan combined with Sini decoction consist of "monkshood, roasted liquorice, dried ginger, fructus amomi".The other one was Tu Si Jian consist of "yam, semen cuscutae, angelica, roasted liquorice".Conclusions "Invigorating spleen and kidney","warming yang and dissipating dampness" and "hiding yang and Seeking Yang in Yin" are the habits and rules of the ointment medication by Prof.Yang Zhimin treatingyang deficiency and fatigue state patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study performed of develop a mice model of allergic diseases induced by crude extractings from populus pollen. Methods: A total of 60 BALB/c mice were divided randomly into there groups:normal control group,Albumin Egg(OVA) group and populus pollen model group with 20 in each.Mices were repeatedly sensitized by intraperitoneal injections of OVA or crude populus pollen extract every 5 d for four doses.Five days after the last sensitization, mices were repeatedly challenged by once daily antigen from 21-25 d.The changes of inflammatory cells in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) were stained with hematoxylin and eosin(HE) to evaluate the degree of allergic inflammation.PAS staining was used to observe the secretion of airway mucus; The changes of the nasal mucosas and lungs of mice were stained with HE to evaluate the degree of allergic inflammation. And the average optical density of IL-4 and IFN-γ positive cells in lung tissue was measured by immunohistochemistry. The total IgE in the serum was also measured by enzyme-linked immunoassay(ELISA).Results: Compared with the mice in normal control group, those in OVA group and model group developed obvious allergic inflammation in the nasal mucosas and lungs, and increased airway mucus secretion. The number of inflammatory cells including eosinophil and neutrophils markedly increased in BALF smear. The average optical density of IL-4 positive cells in lung tissue was all increased in OVA group and model group compared with those in normal control group, and the average optical density of IFN-γ in lung tissue was on the contrary. The total IgE in the serum were all increased in OVA group and model group compared with those in normal control group, and the IFN-γ in the serum was significantly reduced in OVA group and model group compared with those in normal control group. Conclusion: Taken together, crude populus pollen extract can successfully induce a mice model of allergic diseases. This model is a useful tool in studying the mechanisms of allergic disease.

ABSTRACT

The stability of meridian detector was the basis to study meridian through conductance method. Ancient documents mentioned that the human body's blood could change with the time and meridians. When qi and blood came, the qi and blood would be full of that place; when qi and blood gone, the local skin shining could fade and recess. It liked the tidal fluctuation, then caused the corresponding acupuncture points conductance value changes. Modern studies had reported that meridian detector instrument the skin area of twelve meridians acupuncture points could change along with time within 24 hours. In this circumstance, whether the conductance values changes in human acupuncture points had statistical significance was vital important. DMS meridian detector instruction was adopt to measure the twelve meridian jingyuan acupuncture point in order to analyze the acupuncture point conductance value changes within one day

ABSTRACT

Background and purpose:It was reported that many microRNAs (miRNAs) have close relation with carcinomas. miR-31 (microRNA-31) shows abnormal change in numerous cancers. China is one of the most high-risk areas of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The aim of the present study was to investigate the expression of miR-31 in ESCC, and analyze the relationship of its expression with clinicopathological features and prognosis. Methods:The expression of miR-31 in KYSE410, EC1 and EC9706 cell lines, as well as 81 cases of ESCC tissues and adjacent normal esophageal tissues were detected by real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The result was combined with clinical and follow-up data and statistical analysis was conducted. Results: MiR-31 was up-expression in 3 cell lines and 75.31% of the ESCC tissues. miR-31 up-expression was positively related to severer lymph node metastasis (P=0.043), deeper invasion of tumors (P=0.002) and advanced pathological stage (P=0.027). There was no relationship of miR-31 with other clinicopathological features (P>0.05). Furthermore, high expression of miR-31 was associated with poor progression-free survival (PFS) in 81 ESCC patients by Kaplan-Meier analysis (P=0.014) and by multivariate Cox analysis (P=0.021). Conclusion:Our results identiifed miR-31 may be a new diagnostic criteria and prognostic biomarker for ESCC.

ABSTRACT

miRNAs are endogenous short RNA molecules widely distributed in eukaryotic organisms. They are closely related to tumor development. One good example is miR-21. It is overexpressed in a variety of tumor tissues, suggesting that miR-21 may have significant carcinogenic activities and act as a oncogene. Many studies confirm that overexpression of miR-21 has great indication in the development, diagnosis, biological treatment and prognosis of gastrointestinal cancer.

ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo explore the ideal minimally invasive surgical method for degenerative lumbar spine stenosis.MethodsFrom March 2008 to August 2010,73 cases with lumbar spinal stenosis underwent minimal invasive surgery were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into different groups by clinical features, imaging manifestations, and concurrent diseases. The minimal invasive surgical methods were chosen according to the classification.Operation time,intra-operative bleeding, and complications were recorded. The lumbar function was evaluated by Oswestry disability index (ODI),and the clinical results were assessed by JOA pre- and postoperatively.ResultsMinimal invasive surgery was completed in all cases, which included 25 cases with bilateral decompression and 48 cases with unilateral approach for bilateral decompression.Twenty-three cases used interbody fusion and percutaneous pedicle screw fixation after decompression.Intraoperative blood loss and operation time were related to surgical methods. One case was complicated with dural tear.Cage was inserted into upper vertebral body during interbody fusion in 1case with osteoporosis, removed the cage and implanted bone fusion.Incisions of 3 cases were poor healing after surgery. The average follow up time was 13 months(range,10-35).JOA score and ODI before surgery were 9.2±5.1 and 62.3%±18.5% respectively; while 6 months after surgery,JOA score and ODI were 23.5±7.2 and 18.4%±6.4% respectively.JOA score and ODI showed statistically significant improvements after operation(P<0.01).Twenty-two cases got solid fusion at the final follow-up.ConclusionTreatment of lumbar spinal stenosis by minimal invasive surgery has satisfactory surgical outcomes, but the proper minimal invasive strategy should be chosen according to specific patients, surgeons and hospitals.
